A healthy lifestyle and general well-being are closely linked to psychological balance. Unfortunately, this balance can be impaired by stress and other everyday tasks leading to depression and, in extreme cases, treatment for serious mental illness is required. After a few sessions, psychological counseling and/or therapy can help to restore this vital equilibrium greatly improving quality of life.
Unlike other therapeutic approaches, the systemic approach does not see the "problem" as restricted to the individual; rather it considers the whole frame of reference, as well as unconscious rules and behavior patterns.
At the same time the resources needed to overcome the difficult situation lie in the individual, which can be uncovered together with the therapist during the course of therapy.
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. (Aristotle)
